Why are they advertising life insurance and sell-gold commercials on kids' cartoons?

I'm watching He-Man and She-Ra cartoons on the RTV network (Detroit channel 7.2) right now, and I watch "Heathcliff" and "Inspector Gadget" on the THIS-TV network (Detroit channel 4.2) every weekday morning before school. Why do they advertise life insurance, sell-gold-for-cash, and other junk that kids would have no interest in? What ever happened to toys, cereal, and McDonalds commercials during cartoons?

Lots of adults watch cartoons for various reasons, and it's the adults the advertisers need to connect with because they're the ones with any money. (Or a lack of money in the case of sell-gold commercials - that's also why they advertise tech schools and whatnot at that time.) At least they're not advertising Cialis.

Help!!!! I don't know what to do!!!!?

Ok, so before I even tell you my problem, I know I shouldn't have been doing it, so don't even tell me. I want serious answers. Ok, so in Band class the other(I have it last hour) all the people in track had to leave early for a meet at a different school. There were only 9 of us left, and we only had two flute players, one trumpet, one trombone, and six drummers, so the teacher thought it was pointless to practice our songs for the concert when 3/4 of the band was gone, so we watched a movie, Inspector Gadget. I got bored so I started texting people that were in track since they were still on the bus. I got caught because a snitch told on me. I got my phone taken away, and the rule at out school is if your phone gets taken away, the teacher that took it away keeps it until your parents come and get it. My parents are out of town for until Wednesday, and left last Wednesday, I got my phone taken away on Thursday. I am staying with my grandparents and I had them go to get my phone back, but the teacher wouldn't give it to them because they are not my parent or legal guardians. They explained that my parents were out of town, and I was staying with them, but he still wouldn't give it back. Anyway, I was supposed to have volleyball practice that night, but I never got the call from coach that practice was cancelled, because she calls my moms cell, and usually my mom would just tell me. We don't have a home phone, so I am assuming she called my cell to tell me, but obviously I couldn't answer it. I went to the gym and my grandparents had dropped me off. The gym isn't in the town I live in, so I couldn't walk home, and it is kind of in the middle of nowhere, so I couldn't walk somewhere else to use a phone. No one else was there so I couldn't borrow a cell. I was stuck there for 2 hours. So I never really get in trouble (honest), I have never gotten phone taken away before, never been sent to office, never been grounded etc. So how do I get my phone back before Wednesday. My mom isn't going to kill me or anything, I am not trying to keep it from her, because I know if I don't tell her my grandparents will. But I need it back, because no one else in my family has a phone and we live in the country so we need a phone at our house, and I went to a softball tournament this weekend that had been rained out because I couldn't call rainout number. How Do I get it back? It is not really the fact that I don't have my phone that bothers me, what bothers me is that I had the people who were watching me come and pick it up like I was supposed to, but he is keeping it, when I paid for it, when I had my GRANDPARENTS come and get it back, that I might NEED it (what if someone at our house had a medical problem and we had to call an ambulance? Oh yeah they would just die cuz we couldnt call and ambulance, oh well no big deal my band teacher just caused someone in family to deal, no biggie) and that he is basically stealing! and to the first answer, I did buy it myself and I pay the monthly bill myself with the money I earn from babysitting. And it is not like I had my brother come and get it, or I posed as my mom, I had the closest thing to parents that I had then to come and get it. wrong category my bad I meant to do grade-schooler No I go to a school in Kansas No I go to a school in Kansas LOl that is creepy....my band teachers name is Mr. Foster. Can't you go to your principal and explain the situation? Tell him/her that you are staying at your grandparents house who do not have a phone, so if anything goes wrong you are pretty much relying on your cellphone. Tell your principal about the things that have already gone wrong, and that you won't text in class anymore. It doesn't hurt to try...Good Luck!!
